Philadelphia Eagles Fandom

As the Philadelphia Eagles team enters Lincoln Financial Field they are surrounded by their thousands of fans cheering them on from the stands. "Fly eagles fly, on the road to victory" and "E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES," is being shouted left and right at every eagles football game. Entering the city of Philadelphia on a game day is one of the most chaotic and crazy things to experience. People are screaming, tailgates at every corner, green just about everywhere, and streets so crowded with fans you can barely drive. The Eagles stadium is almost always at max capacity at every game with all 67,000 seats taken by die-hard Philly fans (3). Philly people don't just see football as the fun part of every Sunday. Of course those 3 hours of the game is important and fun but it's more than just a game to all Eagles fans. They just love to all be together on game days and to celebrate their favorite team together with a philly cheesesteak in their hand and all of their friends and family by their side.

Most Notorious Fanbase in the NFL?

It has been said that the Philly Eagles Fans are very unlikeable. They are known to be very rowdy and destructive. For example in the battle of Eagles fans versus greased light poles, the Philadelphia police couldn't control the Philly fans on the night that the Eagles won Super bowl (1). There was also the infamous snowballing Santa Claus incident during a halftime show that got blown up everywhere. Many people think Philadelphia is a city full of belligerent thugs, but in truth, it is filled with people who are emotional and who simply love their city and their Eagles.

Super Bowl Victory

In 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles took home their first and so far only Super bowl victory. This caused absolute mayhem in the city of Philly. People were flipping cars, destroying properties, setting off fireworks, and much more. That city did not sleep at all that night. On Broad Street, thousands of people packed the streets, blocking traffic, chanting profanity aimed at Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and somehow managed to climb pre-greased light poles. The "City of Brotherly Love" turned into a sea of green that night (2). To this day people still talk about the victory the Eagles had against the Patriots and how amazing and proud it felt to be an Eagles fan that day. Being a die hard Eagles fan myself, I can say that I still remember the night we won and I remember exactly how amazing it felt. My dad, being an even bigger fan than I am, was so proud and happy that he got a tattoo dedicated to the win for his number one team. That is what Eagles fans are all about.
